WHAT do Hereford bulls, baby humpback whales, large cars and one Toowoomba fishmonger's Christmas order of prawns have in common?
They all weigh approximately 1500 kilograms.
Robert Stone of Stoney the Fishmonger has placed an order for over one tonne of the fishy stuff to satiate his customer's appetite for seafood this Christmas.
Mr Stone has doubled his order this year to cope with the growing demand.
"Everything in the business is doubling compared to last year," he said.
"Last year we ordered 750kgs."
Mr Stone will source his order of Ocean King Prawns from Tin Can Bay.
So great is the demand for all seafood, not just prawns, over the festive period, Mr Stone will changed his modus operandi at the Herries St business.

Mr Stone will pack up his short-order kitchen in the lead up to the big day to enable for more storage.
"Pre-ordering will be available on 750kgs of the prawns," Mr Stone said
"The rest will be for sale on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day."
Mr Stone believes seafood is becoming a big part of a family's festive celebrations.
"People do like to give their families the best," he said.
The Fish Depot in Toowoomba will also order 1000kg of prawns to cope with the Christmas rush.
Across town at Cougar Seafoods in Mary St, owner Mal Rowlings expects to source and sell up to four tonnes of fresh prawns in the lead up to Christmas Day.
Mr Rowlings will directly employee one trawler operator to supply his Toowoomba customers with fresh product over the Christmas week.
