Sydney teenager Jessica Fox finished first and will represent Australia in the women's K1 at the Olympics.

Ros Lawrence enjoyed some consolation when she won silver in the women's C1 final, finishing just 30 seconds behind Fox.

"It would have been nice to finish on top but I guess I should be happy with my run," Lawrence said.

"There was only one small mistake I made so I can work on it."

Lawrence, who lives in Penrith, said it was a challenging course.

"It's pretty challenging but I'm actually glad that it's this hard," she said.

"There has been a bit of discontent among the guys lately, they want harder courses and think the girls can't handle it.

"But it's been challenging the guys as much as the girls."

Fox said she was exhausted after a big weekend.

"I was really drained after putting in a big one for the (Olympic) qualifiers," she said. "It's been great preparation to compete against the best in the world."
