Gardeners look forward to expo

THE Glebe Garden Club's annual Ipswich Home Gardener's Expo will be held this year on Saturday, August 25.

A variety of stalls and speakers concentrates on many aspects of gardening.

About 70 stalls will display water features, garden tools, garden products and ornaments, craft, fresh vegetables, bark painting, pots and hangers.

Speakers include TV horticulturalist John Daly and Claire Levander, from Radio 4BC.

Club secretary David Murphy said the expo had proved a huge success.

"Many people make a day of it and allow time to visit Queens Park and the Nerima Japanese Gardens," he said.

Local charities benefit from the Garden Expo, including Habitat for Humanity which provides affordable homes.

The Ipswich Home Gardener's Expo will be held at the Glebe Road Uniting Church complex, cnr Glebe Rd and Eileen St, Booval, from 8.30am to 3pm.
