UPDATE 1.49PM: POLICE have renewed their call for witnesses to come forward after a young motorcycle rider was killed on Friday.

In a statement, Queensland Police said they had spoken to the driver of a white ute they had earlier appealed to, with the ute now eliminated from their enquiries.

They have now urged anyone who may have seen the motorcyle in the lead up to the crash, or the crash itself, to contact them.

UPDATE 1.42AM: Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a fatal traffic crash at Brookwater yesterday afternoon.

Initial investigations show about 12.15pm a man riding a motorcycle along Augusta Parkway left the road and struck a pole near Leon Capra Drive.

The 18-year-old man from Springfield Lakes suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Queensland Police appealed for the driver of a white Ford Courier ute who may have been in the area at the time to contact investigators as the driver may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

EARLIER: A male motorcyclist has died at the scene of an accident on Augusta Parkway in Brookwater.

The 18-year-old from Springfield Lakes lost control around midday and hit a telephone pole and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Queensland Ambulance Service attended but nothing could be done to save the man.

The road is blocked off on Augusta Parkway in both directions between Columbia Drive and Leon Capra Drive and is expected to reopen shortly.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
