SWISS team BMC Racing says it has a stronger team than last year and can deliver Cadel Evans a second Tour de France victory.
Returning after last year's triumph are: Marcus Burghardt, George Hincapie, Amaël Moinard, Manuel Quinziato and Michael Schär, while BMC director of sport John Lelangue said three new riders - Steve Cummings, Philippe Gilbert and Tejay van Garderen - were the final pieces of the puzzle.
"We have one objective - to defend Cadel's title and bring him to the podium in Paris," Lelangue said. "Our roster has a really good balance and everyone will know clearly what their job is during the three weeks of racing."
Evans said the line-up, plus the confidence he gained from winning last year, had convinced him another victory was possible.
"I know now that I can win it. My lead-up this year is nearly identical to what we did last year and we're bringing an even stronger team to the Tour this time," he said. "Like last year, I'll go to the Tour with my own plan, to ride my own race."
The Tour proper starts in Belgium on July 1 and finishes along the Champs-Elysees in Paris on July 22
